Since 1857, the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been a cornerstone of regional trade and one of the most trusted voices for business in South India.
On February 4, 2026, our CEO Jothishkumar Thekkoote represented Geesesquads at the 169th Chamber Day in Kochi. It was a chance to connect with historic enterprises, policymakers and industry leaders shaping the region’s next phase of growth.
Governance and technology, side by side
The Chief Guest, Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, then Hon’ble Minister for IT & Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu, set a forward-looking tone with his address on governance, technology and economic transformation across states.
His talk underlined how central technology has become to modernising regional infrastructure and building stronger economic links between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Hearing directly how policymakers are pairing traditional governance with digital innovation was valuable for every business in the room.
Dialogue, collaboration and progress
Chamber Day has always been about open dialogue. The programme included a felicitation address by Shri B. Kasiviswanathan (IRSME), then Chairman of the Cochin Port Authority, and a special address by Shri Venugopal C Govind, the Chamber’s senior-most Former President.

It was an honour to speak with Shri Kasiviswanathan and other distinguished guests. These conversations showed how long-established institutions are adapting to a digital economy without losing the values that built them.
What it means for established businesses
Many of the region’s most respected companies are now asking the same question: how do we modernise without disrupting what already works? That is the work we do every day, connecting existing systems to AI safely, step by step, with experienced people guiding every decision.
Our sincere thanks to the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry for an insightful gathering. Being part of this milestone was a privilege, and we look forward to contributing to the next chapter of its legacy.
